Technology behind Lumerax
The Lumerax solution combines switchable PDLC projection film with powerful projection technology and automated control. This creates a system that allows glass surfaces to flexibly switch between transparency and a projection screen.
core performance
Film & glass installation
We supply high-quality, self-adhesive PDLC projection film cut to size and professionally install it on the glass surface. In its transparent state, the pane remains almost unchanged with up to 97% transparency – only when activated does a uniform projection surface for brilliant moving images appear.
Installation is carried out by experienced specialists and, depending on the scope of the project, either by our own team or by certified regional partners.
The film is applied to the inside of the glass surface and can be removed without leaving any residue if required.
core performance
Electrical connection & control
Each film is powered by a transformer that reduces the mains voltage (230 V) to a low voltage level of approximately 60 V suitable for PDLC technology. Our electrical engineers ensure professional connection, discreet cable routing, and seamless integration of all components.
The film can be activated and content played automatically – for example, via timed sequences or central control.

Projector & Media Player
For projection, we use powerful laser projectors specifically designed for use on glass surfaces and in shop windows. Depending on the size of the glass surface, viewing angle, and ambient light, we select the appropriate projector power – typically from around 6,000 ANSI lumens – to ensure a clear and high-contrast display even in residual light.
Content is played back via an integrated media player. Videos, animations, or advertising campaigns can run automatically according to a schedule, be centrally managed, or updated at any time. This allows for easy and synchronized control of multiple locations.
The projector and control system are discreetly installed indoors and fully integrated into the system, so that in everyday use only one thing remains visible: the projection in the window.

Content & Content Management
Those without their own advertising department can use our creative service. Together with experienced design and animation studios, we develop animated content specifically designed for projections onto glass surfaces.
The animations are tailored to the industry, location, and campaign goal – from attention-grabbing brand messages to changing offers or seasonal promotions.
All content can be automatically played according to a schedule, updated, or controlled across multiple locations.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is a complete solution more sensible than individual components?
Many suppliers only provide the film or only the hardware – with Lumerax, all components work together seamlessly: film, control, projection, and content are precisely coordinated. This creates a functioning system with a visible effect – instead of time-consuming, ineffective self-coordination.
Can I use my own content or am I dependent on your agency?
You can upload your own videos or presentations at any time – via media player or cloud system. However, we recommend specially tailored content: contrast, color choice, and timing are crucial for the effect on glass. We offer optional creative support from experienced partners for this purpose.
How does the implementation work on site – do I have to organize tradespeople myself?
No. We take care of all the coordination: certified film installers, electricians, and – depending on the package – also projectors and media systems. You receive a turnkey system with a clearly defined process and minimal effort for you or your employees.
Does the system really work reliably – even in everyday use?
Yes. Our technology is designed for continuous operation – the controls are automated (e.g., via timer or app). The projection is visible from the outside, but barely noticeable inside. This means your employees can work normally, and guests can dine or receive consultations undisturbed.
Why do some examples appear organically shaped rather than rectangular?
Most shop windows are fitted with rectangular film as standard – this also applies to most of our projects. In some cases, however, we use so-called organically shaped transparent areas upon request. These allow targeted glimpses into the interior and create a particularly exciting visual effect.
In the visualizations and references shown on our website, we deliberately use this option to demonstrate the full creative potential of our solution.
It's important to know that while this option is technically feasible, it requires coordinated video production and planning , as content must be precisely tailored to the freeform shape. For many clients, the standard rectangular solution is therefore the more pragmatic approach – offering greater flexibility without visual compromises.
Can I also earn money with the system – for example, through advertising?
Absolutely. Many clients not only use their window space for their own advertising, but also rent it out in the evening to partners or local businesses. We help with the technical implementation and – if desired – also with content planning or central management of multiple locations.
